I am in receipt of a retirement pension from Spanish government. I'm trying to complete SA form for 2023 but have a few queries... 1. The Fiscal Year in Spain runs from Jan to Dec. I have a p60 equivalent from Jan 22 to Dec 22. Can I use the figures on this or do I have to estimate the figures for payments at each end of the year (i.e. Jan - Mar 22 and Jan to Mar 23)? I don't get Payslips so don't know exactly how much tax I've paid. 2. Do I tick the box to claim Foreign Tax Credit Relief on the SA form?

Please treat the income from January to December from your Spanish pension as April to April for tax return purposes. This means that you do not need to apportion it to fit the UK fiscal year.

If you have paid tax on your pension in Spain, you can claim a Foreign Tax Credit Relief so that you are not taxed twice on the same income.

Thank you.
