I have moved from the UK to Ireland, now find I am unable to verify my id to complete my self assessment form. The system asked for details of my previous payment last year which I have provided. I no longer have a UK DL but I do have an Irish Passport. On the system it asks for either a UK or International Passport ( so I was confident I could prove my id with my Irish Passport) but once you move forward on the screen it says UK Passport. Tried ringing a no for HMRC and it said I was running out of credit, obviously not the right no, I have emailed but not confident of a reply. Has anyone a HMRC no that can be used outside the UK please. Thank you

Hi,

The only passport that we can verify is a UK passport. We have an international number listed here:

Self Assessment: general enquiries

Thank you.
