PAYE / P60 Income of £60k for 21/22 Personal pension payments of £10k gross made for 21/22 Therefore I'm a basic rate taxpayer for 21/22 Would I qualify for the Marriage Allowance? Wife's income is below £12,570. I obviously would if my pension payments were made via salary sacrifice as P60 income would then be £50k. website just mentions being a basic rate taxpayer which I obliviously am for 21/22. Nothing definitive online. Thanks in advance Mike

If your total taxable income is below £37700 (England and Wales) then you would be classed as

a basis rate taxpayer and able to claim the transfer   .

Thank you.

Thanks. Well, my taxable income I guess is £47,430? But my basic rate tax band has been extended from £37,770 to £47,770 because of the pension contribution, so I am still a basic rate taxpayer for 21/22. Should I qualify for it based on these figures? Thanks again Mike
