I submitted my Self Assessment stating the EIS investment amount and all my PAYE details as I am full time employed. I think I followed everything but my understanding was that for EIS you get 30% relief from the tax you pay but the calculation seems to be giving me around 86% relief. I am worried as have completed everything correctly so do not understand why the calculation is so high, my total tax is around 8K so would be expecting no more than around 2,400 relief.

Hi,

You will need to contact our our Self Assessment team so we can check your tax return and advise if there are any errors resulting in a larger repayment than expected.
