A letter has been received from the following address: DM Simple Assessment, HM Revenue and Customs, BX9 1GX. The letter states that there is an overdue Simple Assessment amount but no calculation has ever received. As there was no previous awareness of the liability a quick search was carried out and there seems to be no record of this address on HMRC's website. Google searches produce conflicting answers. I have tried HMRC's digital assistant and an agent advised that that postcode could not be found. Please can you confirm that this letter and address is genuine and that it is safe to respond accordingly.
