When does HMRC report to SLC

I will have finished paying off my student loan (give or take £10 in interest) through self-assessment this January- with roughly £1500 paid through self assessment to go to my loan. However this final credit isn't showing in my SLC account and I am due to start paying £380 a month via DD from the 10th March. When will HMRC tell SLC I have actually paid off my loan and is there anything that can be done to avoid overpaying in March?
