Hello, In a previous thread tax treatment of PPF interest earned in India was described - similar to a UK pension ie on withdrawal. As a UK tax resident, can I deduct the contribution I make to my PPF acc in India as pension contribution? as in do the contribution become tax exempt in UK as long as im below the annual pension allowance?

The Pensions Tax Manual advises that migrants can get UK tax relief on contributions to an overseas pension scheme, as if those contributions were made to a registered pension scheme. There is a limit to the relief available.
