My partnership ceased trading in December, 2021 and I duly completed what I thought would be the final sa800 for 2021-2022. I was therefore surprised to receive another sa800 form from HMRC for 2022-2023. The partnership obviously hasn't traded, received any income or incurred any costs during this period so I'm at a bit of a loss about how to complete the sa800. I also filled in the sa803 declaring asset disposal. As far as I can understand I just have to leave the whole form blank except for signing and dating it as the nominated partner. Is this correct? Also how many more years will I be required to fill an sa800 for? It all seems pretty pointless. I'm just glad I haven't moved house as it wouldn't have occurred to me to notify HMRC of my new address now the partnership has ceased trading and would no doubt go on to receive a fine for not filling it in.

Hi,

You are correct on how to complete the form when the partnership. Once you have done this the record will be closed and future years will not be requested unless the partnership is registered again.

Thank you.
