Bank Repayment Pending

My self assessment tax return shows Bank Repayment Pending. How long will it take to receive the repayment?

If the repayment is pending for more than 10 working days it may have been selected for additional security checks.
We aim to clear these within 6 weeks however it can take longer at peak times.

These are checks that are performed on some repayments.
If further information is required you will be contacted by letter.

Mine has said bank repayment pending for 6 weeks iv spoken to the office and they just say it s going through security checks iv received no letters what would I do

You should wait for a letter or contact us again after a few weeks.

What are the real time delays for security checks? I’ve been waiting over 17 weeks and the call centre cannot give a timescale to manage my expectations or even chase up the security team. No letters sent to me requesting information, no progress, no resolution, and now no advice to phone in ‘x’ more weeks. Advice online and here says 6 -8 weeks not 17.
