Hi, please can HMRC clarify whether I should include current account cashback as interest when completing self assessment tax return? This is into a joint Santander 123 account which pays 1, 2 or 3% on various bills. I am self employed. These 2 threads give opposite answers. https://community.hmrc.gov.uk/forums/customerforums/pt/e4c1a2b0-1975-ea11-99e5-00155d9c8f13 https://community.hmrc.gov.uk/forums/customerforums/qandasessions/d18ce96b-b8cf-e911-b3b9-00155d9c6b78 Many thanks.

Hi,

The cashback is not interest and should be declared as other taxable income on the return.

Thank you.
