Hi, please can HMRC clarify whether I should include current account cashback as interest when completing self assessment tax return? This is into a joint Santander 123 account which pays 1, 2 or 3% on various bills. I am self employed. These 2 threads give opposite answers. Many thanks.

The cashback is not interest and should be declared as other taxable income on the return.

Thank you.
