Moved to payroll bureau and they use different payroll software - Pegasus Opera this software does not allow you to input previous RTI ID or option to 'YES' payroll ID changed - even though payroll processed is correct the FPS figures uploaded to HMRC are different to what we have reported. What is the best step forward to rectify this. I have spoken to HMRC several times and no response received, therefore employee tax codes are changing because of this.

You will need to speak to the payroll bureau regarding this as not notifying HMRC of the old payroll identification, or that you are not using this, may create duplication of the records.

We have spoken to the bureau etc and also to HMRC but other than be told it can take up to a year to resolve the matter but in the meantime the payroll still has to be run - do not understand why it should take up to a year to resolve, when national insurance numbers are the same etc

By not following the correct process when changing payroll software ie setting the changed payroll ID and inputting the old payroll ID,it can create a duplicate job on the individual record.
To fix this can take a long time as its done by a small team.
The fastest way to fix this is to set the flag and add the old payroll IDs ,this will allow a automatic scan which is run every month to try to pick up the cases and combine them in to one job.
