I am a little confused with filling out the tax return. I was employed last year until October, I was self employed as well, I left my job in October and went fully self employed. I think the tax/ni I owe seems to be a little high.. Surely I don’t need to pay tax/ni when I was in employment as it’s already been taken out.. Self employed earnings £15,000 Employed earnings £4,500 Apparently I owe about £3000 in tax/ni, is this correct? It seems so high. Total amount due £2098 Then it says Plus First payment on account 2022-23 £969.71 Then total to be added to self assessment account due by 31st January 2023 £3067 I’m so confused by the amounts..
