Good afternoon, please advise if a student loan that was taken out in the late 1990s (97-1999) should be reported in the payroll software? The new employee is paying it directly to the Student Loans Company and there are no new loan repayment plans like Plan 1-4 or Postgraduate Loan. Could you advise if we should reported it? the software we use does not provide a function for him to report such a loan. He does not earn salary in the UK after 6 April 2022, so he don't give us P45 form.

Generally speaking you would report it if you have received one of the following, a P45, a new starter checklist declaring the Student Loan or a GNS message.
