My parents passed away 2015 and 2016. I have shares in the family houses. I inherited these. I became a uk resident in 2021. Will I pay tax on the money from these houses when I bring it to the UK

Hi BAH,

There is no tax liability to transferring money from a foreign bank account to a UK bank account.

There is no tax relief for the costs incurred in converting currencies.

If you are resident in the UK you may be liable to pay Capital Gains Tax, should any of the properties be sold.

Thank you.
